Recycled & Handmade with Aloha. Jewelry made on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Artist, Mia Russi
ARTIST: MIA RUSSI
Mia Russi's love for jewelry making started when she worked at a small, California beach town jewelry store at the age of 15. Her friend's mom, the owner of the store, started showing Mia how to make silver jewelry behind the counter, and it sparked a love for the art that helped catapult her career in the jewelry industry.
Mia was making and selling handmade jewelry before she graduated high school. After working in a series of high-end boutiques in Santa Monica, CA upon graduating, she put herself through school to fine-tune her skills in silversmithing, goldsmithing, and jewelry art .
Mia moved from California to Hawaii in 2003 and allowed beach living to take influence in her creative jewelry designs. After finding an abundance of sea glass and pristine shells along the shoreline of the local beaches, Mia made her first batch of jewelry with her washed up keepsakes and Washed Up Jewelry was born.
With each unique piece both refined and rugged, her handmade designs bring you to the sea where these keepsakes were washed up & found.
